Rome Fiumicino Airport (Leonardo da Vinci) provides travellers with a wide range of ground transportation, namely buses, shuttles, taxi cabs and also trains.

Serving Rome and the surrounding area, ground transport at Fiumicino connects nearby destinations such as Capena, Cerveteri, Ciampino, Fonte Nuova, Ladispoli, Marino, Monterotondo, Pomezia, Riano and Tivoli.

Trains

Fiumicino Airport has fast and efficient train services, which offer direct links to and from the central station in Rome, together with some other stations.

• Leonardo Express - the most convenient service, with trains to and from Termini every 30 minutes throughout the day
• Metropolitan Train FM1 - operates for most of the day and leaves every 20 minutes, connecting the airport to Roma Tiburtina, Fara Sabina, Poggio Mirteto and Orte

Buses

Fiumicino Airport (FCO) is served by many regular public buses and these travel from the terminal buildings, all the way into the very heart of Rome and to other nearby towns within the Lazio region. Terravision coaches are also to hand and run between the central Termini station and Fiumicino town centre. Another bus travelling to and from the Termini station is the SIT Shuttle, while the Autonoleggio Tirreno line runs to Fiumicino Port.

Some hotels also offer a door-to-door courtesy shuttle bus service for their guests, collecting arriving passengers and delivering them directly to their booked hotel.

For passengers arriving during the night-time there is a convenient bus linking two train stations - the Termini and Tiburtina stations. Bus services are situated close to the International Terminals Arrivals.

Taxi Cabs

Taxis are readily available at Rome Fiumicino (FCO), being found outside of the arrivals areas of Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5. Fixed prices are usually charged for central destinations within the Aurelian Walls. From the Leonardo da Vinci Airport, central Rome can be reached in approximately 35 minutes.

Official white taxi cabs should be used at all times. Of note, surcharges are often applicable, so do check these before you set off on your journey.
